Personal Journey

See How Halal Tallow Healed My Skin For years

For years, I battled chronic eczema, spending thousands of pounds on treatments and following the NHS pathway: steroid creams like hydrocortisone, Eumovate, and Dermovate, light therapy, and even immunosuppressant cancer medications like methotrexate. These treatments not only failed to provide lasting relief but led to new problems, including alopecia and more frustration as I searched for a cure for my hair loss. Eventually, I was told to “just live with it.”

That wasn’t good enough for me. I decided to take matters into my own hands and understand what was really going on with my body and skin. After extensive research, I learned that conditions like eczema and psoriasis often stem from gut health and that what we put on our skin plays a significant role in healing.

Armed with this knowledge, I began an elimination diet, cutting out foods that were damaging to my gut, such as gluten, dairy, and sugar. Switching to a carnivore diet helped heal me by 70%. The remaining hurdle was my dependence on toxic moisturizers—products with over 40 unrecognizable ingredients. I knew it was time for a change.

I wanted something natural, organic, and pure—something reminiscent of what our ancestors used before we became trapped in the cycle of pharmaceutical dependency. That’s when I discovered tallow.

Being on a carnivore diet, incorporating tallow into my skincare routine made perfect sense. I saw it gaining popularity online and was eager to try it. However, as a meat-based product, it had to be HMC halal-certified, and I couldn’t find any halal options. So, I decided to create my own.

I sourced the highest-quality, grass-fed, grass-finished fat, rendering it with filtered water to remove heavy metals (which could be absorbed through the skin). I rendered the tallow five times, ensuring it was completely pure. I then combined it with cold-pressed organic jojoba oil and unrefined shea butter, carefully packaging it in sterilized amber glass jars for UV protection.

When I applied this rich, moisturiser to my hands, face, and body, it felt like it was made just for my skin. The redness and dryness began to fade, and for the first time, I felt confident. It replaced those sticky emollients that would make my skin stick to my clothes (my fellow eczema sufferers know how awful that feeling is).

This discovery changed my life, and I knew it could help others too. That’s why I started sharing it—not just for eczema sufferers but for anyone seeking a natural, effective moisturizer. My whole family now uses it daily. The face balm stick, in particular, is a favorite. It’s compact, easy to carry, and perfect for topping up throughout the day—whether after wudu or just when your skin needs a quick refresh. Insha’Allah, this balm helps you as much as it has helped me. I truly understand the pain of struggling with your skin, and I’m here to support you on your healing journey. If you have any questions, feel free to message me—I’m always happy to help. JazakAllah khair.
